18th Street Brewery’s ‘BAN ART' (Brewery Artist’s Network) is happy to announce an upcoming show ‘Here and There; Works on Paper and Wood; by Anthony Lewellen.
Anthony Lewellen is an artist who strives to push himself further in his creativity. From 2013-2014 he subjected himself to completing a drawing a day 'with the goal of exploring a daily creative discipline and using social media as a form of interactive accountability and documentation'. These were not loose sketches passed off as drawings- these were fully realized, finished pieces.
In 2015, taking what he learned from those daily drawings he began a new project entitled ’52 Weeks’. He explains 'I wanted to combine daily discipline and focus with more than one days worth of ideas, energy and inspiration.’ This new venture involves the creation of one 18x24” multi-media work on paper per week, and again, documenting the entire process via social medias.
We are extremely happy to be able to show selected works from Lewellen's ’52 Weeks’ project, his ‘Drawing a Day 2013-2014’ project, as well as a few of his cut and assembled wood wall hanging pieces. This is a show you will not want to miss. Show opens Saturday, June 13th and runs until August 1, 2015.
