Please rest assured knowing that we are and always will be a business that is open to, and will serve EVERYONE.
(So long as you are 21 and have a valid government issued photo ID to prove it.) We do not accept paper IDs.
Q: Where are you located?
A: We have three locations.
5417 Oakley Ave. Hammond, Indiana. 46320. Home to a taproom and kitchen, as well as our production facility. We are located in downtown Hammond between Hohman and Calumet Ave. The South Shore train lets off at the HAMMOND stop, which is 1.3 miles from our front door. Use an UBER to get from the stop to the brewery. This is a non smoking and non vaping (e-cigs) establishment. Families are welcome, but please be aware we do not have high chairs or booster seats. We are able to sell packaged beer to go on Sunday's from our Hammond brewpub.
5725 Miller Ave. Gary, Indiana. 46403. Our original location. We have moved our production to HAMMOND, but our Gary has a small 10 barrel open fermentation system. This location offers draft and packaged beers and cocktails. Our Gary location does not have a kitchen, however, guests may bring in outside food. This is a non smoking and non vaping (e-cigs) establishment. Families are welcome in our front space. Packaged sales are available on Sunday from our Gary location.
2829 E 10th St. Indianapolis, IN 46201. Our newest taproom and kitchen. This location offers a 20 tap draft list, packaged beer to-go and craft cocktails.
Q: But you aren't on 18th Street???
A: This is true. The idea of the brewery and taproom was first concieved by Drew while living off 18th Street in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. Through the years the dream never left. When the opportunity arose in the Miller Beach community of Gary to open a brewery/taproom, the dream was kept alive by naming it 18th Street Brewery.
Q: Can I bring my children who are under 21 years of age?
A: Yes, at both locations. In Hammond families with children under 21 years of age can be in the area behind the half wall that splits the room. In Gary families with children under 21 years of age can be in our front room space. Government Issued Photo ID (no paper ID's are accepted) is required to enter the taproom or brewery (your children do not have to show ID).
If bringing your children, please remember that this is an active brewery and pub. If your kids are wilding out we do reserve the right to ask you to put your child in the corner for a time out. For the safety of your children and other patrons, we ask that you please keep a close watch on your children. We keep tabs at the bar, not on your kids.
Please note that our bathrooms are not equipped with diaper changing tables either. Please prepare accordingly.
Q: Do you sell packaged goods on Sunday?
A: Yes, at all locations.
Q: Do you fill growlers?
A: We fill 32oz Howlers and 64oz Growlers. Refills for 32oz and 64oz growlers/howlers vary. If you are bringing in your own Growler or Howler glassware it must be clean and free of defects. We reserve the right to refuse the filling of any glassware we do not deem clean or safe. Pricing is subject to change.
Q: I have a my own personal bus and I want to come to 18th Street.
A: Any group coming in with over 10 people needs to contact us 2 weeks in advance. You can contact us here. This is to make sure we are properly staffed. We retain the right to refuse service to any large party that comes to the brewery without calling.
Q: What's the best way to get there?
A: HAMMOND LOCATION: We are located in downtown Hammond, in between Calumet and Hohman Ave. Take 90 or 94, either will get you here. If you are traveling via the South Shore Metra, get off at the HAMMOND stop and walk, bike, or call an UBER. If you still need help getting here, try google maps or any other service that will give you directions.
A: GARY LOCATION- We are easily located off of 80, 94, 90, and 65 via the Dunes Highway or US 20. However, the BEST way, if applicable to your locale, is to take the South Shore Line to the Miller stop from which we are located two blocks. Link to Google Maps. Link to South Shore Line info.
