Honored by The City of Hammond

We were honored by The Common Council of The City of Hammond for being named 'Best Brewpub in America' on Monday evening.

'I started this small business in 2010, and it has grown more than I could have ever imagined these past 9 years. When our journey began 4 years ago to expand, we looked for over a year and a handful of NWI cities, trying our best to find the right home. We wanted a city and a community that was growing economically and shared some of the same principles on how small businesses are the catalyst for growth and development.

When we picked Hammond, the entire administration welcomed 18th Street Brewery with open arms. From the start they provided directions on how to work with all city departments to move our expansion forward. We learned fast that the city of Hammond really knows how to work with small businesses. We immediately knew we made the right choice in moving our entire brewing production facility to Hammond, Indiana.

Our amazing staff works tirelessly to make guests from all over the community and country receive the best experience they possibly can when visiting our Brewpubs. We have taken the hard road to success, having nothing handed to us. Owning breweries and running brewpubs is hard work but it can also be fun and rewarding with the right support system in place.

But through it all, we remain true to our core values, which are to be the best in everything we do, provide the best guest experience to everyone who walks through our doors, be a good steward by supporting and respecting the communities in which we work and live. Last and most important, is to live and love what you do.

Last night was a rewarding moment as we were recognized by the City of Hammond for being named 'Best Brewpub in America'. This reward is for all of the employees at 18th Street Brewery, The Sour Note Brewing and 18th Street Distillery, all located in Hammond Indiana. We would like to thank the entire Common Council and the City of Hammond for this honor and believing in our vision. I would also like to thank Mayor McDermott for his continued support, and we look forward to working with you and your team in future economic development projects.'
